WORLD ALZHEIMER’S DAY - Domenico Pratico', MD, FCPP

Updated: 13 hours ago

A Day of HOPE

Today, as we celebrate the World Alzheimer’s Day, I just want to remind everyone that although Alzheimer’s cannot be completely prevented, adopting healthy habits can significantly reduce the risk.

Hence the thought of the day should be, it is never too early, never too late for staying mentally active, socially engaged, engaging in regular physical activity, and eating a healthy diet which will benefit of our body and brain. Early detection and early diagnosis matter since it allows better access to medical care and support services.

As we continue our quest for the cure, let’s reassure ourselves and celebrate that we are on a road of progress and continued research success which is bringing us closer every day to that goal.  But we will achieve this only together, as a community made of the patients, families, caregivers, doctors, and researches we will prevail. Every day each of us can take positive steps because it is, "never too early, never too late."

Domenico Praticò, MD, holds the position of the Scott Richards North Star Charitable Foundation Chair for Alzheimer’s Research and serves as a Professor and the Founding Director at the Alzheimer’s Center at Temple, as well as a Professor of Neural Sciences at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
